Week 15 of Masters of the Universe: Tales from Eternia, and in the latest instalment, titled ‘Moss Man’, Mer-Man is up to no good. Ol’ fish breath aims to poison the dry lands, and ropes Clawful in to help.
Using the Coral of Corruption, Mer-Man plans to take over Eternia and force everyone to bend to his will. Problem is, he doesn’t count on Moss Man and He-Man getting in his way.
After plenty of weeks of Beast Man, Evil-Lyn, Trap Jaw etc, it’s great to finally see Mer-Man given the spotlight in Tales from Eternia. He’s a fun character, with a quirky voice, and he’s positioned as a credible threat to every Eternian citizen.
Pitching him against Moss Man adds to the fun, but then chucking He-Man and Battle Cat into the mix raises the bar. Especially as this week we get a Prince Adam transformation sequence, which makes nods to the original ’80s show and is delightful to watch!
‘Moss Man’ is also a fairly action-packed offering, with great visuals. And while this episode isn’t necessarily peak Tales from Eternia storytelling, this is yet another awesome slice of escapism.
