Attack on Grayskull: Part Two – Masters of the Universe: Tales from Eternia reviewed

By Alex Wiggan

Picking up after last week’s cliffhanger ending, Masters of the Universe: Tales from Eternia is back for Attack on Grayskull – Part Two. And if you can’t recall what happened in Part One, Skeletor captured the Sorceress, took over Castle Grayskull, and became very powerful.

As the story continues, Prince Adam, Man-At-Arms, and Teela race to the castle, where they are met by Beast Man, Evil-Lyn, and Trap Jaw. Adam manages to bluff his way inside, which allows him to reconnect with the magic – hurrah!

But as Adam attempts to transform into He-Man, Skeletor stops him, throwing a spanner into the works. Could Skeletor have finally won?

Erm… I think it’s safe to say it’s not likely; but it sure is fun to see Adam faced with one last challenge before he inevitably transforms into He-Man and kicks Skeletor’s bony butt. Which of course, he does, along with some help from his friends.

It’s swift, it’s enjoyable, and it’s awesome to see Skeletor get his comeuppance. Plus, unlike last week’s episode which was all build-up and not much else, this concluding chapter gives us the payoff and ties things up nicely, giving this series a suitable stopping point for the season.

Speaking of which…

After twenty weeks, and plenty of fun, laughter, colourful animation, and a decent selection of characters, Masters of the Universe: Tales from Eternia comes to an end. This final episode of the season injects a bit more action into proceedings and allows good to triumph over evil.

The balance is restored, but hopefully this isn’t the end of the road for Tales from Eternia. This has been a marvellous dash of weekly escapism for the past few months, and a great way to re-introduce He-Man and his pals to a new generation of young fans.

Hopefully the show has attracted plenty of newcomers and there is more to come. But if this is it, it’s been a good journey!

And remember, if for any reason you’ve not caught the previous 19 instalments, you’ll find all the past episodes on the Mattel Adventures YouTube channel. In addition, some of the episodes are currently streaming on Prime Video.
