In 1993, the first season of American superhero show, Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, high-kicked itsway onto television screens. The series – a reworking of a Japanese Super Sentai show – followed the adventures of five teenagers (with attitude), who were recruited to become Earth’s best line of defence against the villainous schemes of Rita Repulsa.

Starring Jason Scott Lee, Zack Taylor, Billy Cranston, Trini Kwan, and Kimberly Hart, Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers was an instant smash-hit when it made its debut. Young audiences loved the colourful superheroes, were impressed with the action and drama, and soon the show became a global phenomenon.

Due to the success of that first season, Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers continued for further seasons, before eventually ‘morphin’’ into a long-running collection of follow-up shows. The popularity of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers also led to a small collection of films, as well as a ‘redo’ season, and a Netflix special.

But if you’re new to Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, or you’re a lapsed fan who can’t quite recall how many seasons or episodes there were, what should you do? Well, you should read this post of course, where you will discover all the answers you seek!

What is the ‘Re-vision’ season of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers?

Image: ©Hasbro

In 2010, fifteen years after the original Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers show left the airwaves, a ‘revised’ series of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers was broadcast. This series was a re-run of 32 classic episodes of the show, albeit with some new visual effects and an updated opening sequence.

No alterations were made to the stories for the ‘Re-vision’ episodes (the changes were merely aesthetic only), but the idea was to give these classic episodes a new lick of paint, to (slightly) freshen them up. All 32 ‘re-freshed’ episodes were taken from the first season of the show.

The episodes were as follows:

  • 01) Day of the Dumpster
  • 02) High Five
  • 03) Teamwork
  • 04) A Pressing Engagement
  • 05) Different Drum
  • 06) Food Fight
  • 07) Big Sisters
  • 08) Switching Places
  • 09) I, Eye Guy
  • 10) Foul Play in the Sky
  • 11) For Whom the Bell Trolls
  • 12) Happy Birthday, Zack
  • 13) No Clowning Around
  • 14) Green with Evil: Out of Control – Part One
  • 15) Green with Evil: Jason’s Battle – Part Two
  • 16) Green with Evil:  – Part Three
  • 17) Green with Evil – Part Four
  • 18) Green with Evil – Part Five
  • 19) The Trouble with Shellshock
  • 20) Itsy Bitsy Spider
  • 21) Power Ranger Punks
  • 22) The Spit Flower
  • 23) Life’s a Masquerade
  • 24) Gung Ho!
  • 25) Island of Illusion – Part One
  • 26) Island of Illusion – Part Two
  • 27) Wheel of Misfortune

What are the Power Rangers movies connected to Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers?

Image: ©Lionsgate

In addition to the classic episodes (and the Re-vision episodes) listed above, Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers was also popular enough to spawn a few Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers movies.

  • Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: The Movie (1995)
  • Power Rangers (2017)
  • Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: Once & Always (2023)

The first of these movies was Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: The Movie. This film, released in 1995, featured actors from the original television show, and loosely existed within the same continuity of the series.

The second MMPR movie was 2017’s Power Rangers. This movie – inspired by the original Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers show – featured a new cast and did not fit into the continuity of the classic show.

The third MMPR movie was the 2023 Netflix special, Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: Once & Always. The film is set within the same continuity as the original series.
