Due to the continual appearance of Rogue, the character featured in all of the major storylines including Days of Future PastThe Final Decision, Savage Land, Strange Heart, The Dark Phoenix SagaSanctuary, Beyond Good and Evil, and many more. But outside of the major team-up episodes, Rogue also took centre stage in a collection of solo stories.

These stories focused more specifically on Rogue, including her mysterious past, her life-changing encounter with Ms. Marvel, and her connection to Mystique, Nightcrawler, and Graydon Creed. The episodes also saw Rogue cross paths with Apocalypse, Archangel, and an alien race known as the Colony.

The Cure

The first major Rogue-centric episode is The Cure, which revolves around a supposed ‘cure’ for mutants. In the episode, respected scientist, Dr. Adler announces a way to turn mutants into regular humans, which piques Rogue’s interest.

Unable to touch another person without absorbing their memories or mutant abilities, Rogue has longed for a cure for years. Likewise, fellow mutant Warren Worthington III has also longed for a cure ever since he developed wings.

Both Rogue and Worthington travel to Scotland to track down Dr. Adler on Muir Island. However, all is not what it seems, with the real Adler replaced by the shape-shifting mutant, Mystique.

Come the Apocalypse

With Rogue reluctant to go ahead with the cure, Adler/Mystique turns her attention to Warren Worthington III, who she plans to ‘cure’. However, there is no cure, and instead she transforms Worthington into one of Apocalypse’s Four Horsemen.

With Worthington under the control of Apocalypse, and in the guise of Archangel, the Horseman of Death, the X-Men are forced to intervene. And it appears that maybe Rogue can be the only one to reach Worthington.

A Rogue’s Tale

In A Rogue’s Tale, Rogue begins to suffer from strange dreams and visions involving a mysterious woman. After being lured to a hospital by Mystique, Rogue comes face-to-face with the woman and begins to remember who she is.

In the not-too-distant past, Rogue ran away from home and was adopted by Mystique, where she quickly became involved in villainous activity. While working for Mystique, Rogue encountered Ms. Marvel (aka Carol Danvers), accidentally stole her powers and memories, and put her in hospital.

But Ms. Marvel’s psyche is beginning to take over, putting Rogue in danger. As Rogue battles her memories and Ms. Marvel’s influence, could she be headed for a fall?

Obsession

In Obsession, Archangel returns and is on the hunt for Apocalypse. Archangel believes he can put an end to Apocalypse’s reign of terror for good and will stop at nothing to achieve his goal.

Rogue becomes worried about the path Archangel is on, having previously absorbed his thoughts and memories in the episode, Come the Apocalypse. Keen to help him, Rogue feels obligated to join Archangel on his mission.

Love in Vain

In Love in Vain, Rogue encounters a blast from her past in the shape of Cody, her first boyfriend, and the first person who experienced her powers first-hand. But Cody’s sudden appearance is not all it seems and his plans for Rogue include introducing her to a deadly race of alien creatures known as the Colony.

Bloodlines

In Bloodlines, it is Halloween and after receiving a mysterious message from his estranged mother, Nightcrawler calls upon the X-Men for help. This leads to the discovery that Nightcrawler, Rogue, and the mutant-hating human, Graydon Creed share a troubling connection.

Hidden Agendas

And finally, in Hidden Agendas, Rogue heads to the South where she encounters a young mutant named Cannonball. From here, Rogue imparts her knowledge and wisdom on Cannonball when he needs it most.
