More Spider-Man movie news is beginning to emerge…

So, this afternoon I posted news that Jake Gyllenhaal was possibly up for the role of Mysterio in the forthcoming sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. The news originated in The Sun, but now other news outlets are reporting similar stories, suggesting there is some truth to it.

Well, now it appears that another villain has been added to the mix – and one you will be more familiar with. According to Variety, Michael Keaton will be appearing in the Spidey sequel, reprising the role of Adrian Toomes, aka The Vulture – a part he played in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

There’s no word on whether this will be a cameo role, or whether Toomes will be teaming-up with Mysterio (and/or other villains), but it’s entirely possible. Sony Pictures – one of the studios behind this movie – has been keen to get a Sinister Six movie off the ground for a while – could this be it?

The as-yet-untitled Spider-Man sequel enters production imminently, with Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios co-producing the movie and actor, Tom Holland back in the lead role. The film will arrive in cinemas in July 2019.
