DC Entertainment & Warner Bros. Television have announced the arrival of a new live-action TV series based on Doom Patrol.
The show has been added to the line-up for DC Universe – the new streaming service from DC Entertainment. A teaser image has been released in order to promote the show.
According to Newsarama, the series will be set in the same universe as the already announced Titans live-action series (also appearing on DC Universe) and will be written by Jeremy Carver. Greg Berlanti, Geoff Johns, Jeremy Carver and Sarah Schechter are on board as executive producers.
For those unfamiliar with Doom Patrol, the title refers to a group of super heroes who made their comic book debut back in 1963. The group has included various members over the years, including the Teen Titans very own Beast Boy.
As previously reported, DC Universe is a new streaming service aimed squarely at fans of DC Comics/DC Entertainment. The service is being described as “a first-of-its kind, immersive digital experience”.
DC Universe launches later this year. The service promises to offer members exclusive shows, including a Harley Quinn animated series, along with a back catalogue of classic DC content.
