Earlier this morning I posted news that Now That’s What I Call Music is approaching a milestone – Now 100!
Chances are, if you live in the UK, you will have purchased at least one Now album in your lifetime. This could have been in your youth; it could have been last week. Whatever it was and whenever it was, let me know which was the first Now album you purchased?
Mine was Now That’s What I Call Music 37, which featured the likes of No Doubt’s I’m Just a Girl, Eternal’s I Wanna Be the Only One and The Spice Girls’ Who Do You Think You Are?, amongst others. In my opinion, a fine compilation album!
Here’s the ad that promoted the release (back in July 1997)…
If memory serves, I followed up Now 37 with Now 38 (November ’97) & Now 39 (April ’98) – clearly an awesome trilogy. Well, I say “awesome trilogy”, but if I’m being honest I always felt like Now 38 was a bit crap.
Either way, what was your magic number? What was the first Now album you bought and what were the songs that convinced you this was the compilation CD for you?
