Well, can you believe it? I swear it was New Year’s Day only a moment ago, and yet in the blink of an eye four months of 2023 have already whizzed by!
And within that time, the movie industry has been chucking films at us with careless abandon. From award-season nominees and Oscar winners, to big budget blockbusters and all the latest streaming titles, there have been plenty of movies to go around, and I’ve been busy rounding them all up and delivering reviews.
As is always the case, some of these movies have been great, some have been so-so, and quite a few have been downright awful. But as is the way, all the movies have been given a fair crack at the whip, and the reviews speak for themselves.
Speaking of which, when you scroll a bit further down, you will see a whole collection of movie reviews, which are gathered here for you to dive into. Below you’ll find a whoppin’ 100 reviews in total, covering all the films reviewed on this blog across January, February, March, and April 2023.
Amongst the collection are reviews for I Love My Dad, M3GAN, Plane, Skinamarink, Bank of Dave, and Cocaine Bear. You will also be able to read all about Creed III, Knock at the Cabin, Scream VI, and Boston Strangler.
You can learn my thoughts on The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and you can find out why I called Shotgun Wedding “a fine bit of escapism”. You can also read my review of Magic Mike’s Last Dance, in which I said: “a quick scroll through Instagram is more likely to get the pulse pounding than two hours spent with this mess”.
If you dig deep, you’ll also notice the first four months of 2023 have served up a few re-releases of classic movies, which have been allocated their own reviews. Among the mix is Superman: The Movie, Beetlejuice, Alien, Aliens, and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
Oh, and it’s worth mentioning that a number of classic movies will be heading back to the big screen over the course of this year, so moving forward I will be reviewing a few more old school titles as and when they pop up in 2023. But for now, take a look through the reviews from January to April and enjoy!
The above movie reviews cover the first four months of 2023, providing you with the perfect way to catch up on any of the films you may have missed since the beginning of the New Year. But if you are still playing catch up from 2022, then don’t worry, last year’s reviews are all still easily accessible!
Just click on the following links to read reviews for January to March 2022, April to June 2022, July to September 2022, and October to December 2022. Between these four posts you’ll discover 200 movie reviews from last year to occupy your time.
