It seems like every other week Funko announces the forthcoming release of Funko Pop! figures… and truth is they do! The pint-sized plastic playthings have become so popular that Funko is continually releasing products from some of the biggest properties around, incorporating movies, games, TV shows, comics and more into the toy line.

Now that said, there are still many, many properties that Funko hasn’t covered. No doubt the company will get to some of these properties eventually, but for now they remain nothing but a pipe-dream.

Ah, pipe-dreams – don’t you just love ’em. Speaking of which, would you like to know what my Funko Pop! wish list would include?

Oh, you would?

Well, here you go then…

My Funko Pop! wish list

First up…

Super Mario Bros.

Funko has produced a number of gaming figures over the years, from Sonic the Hedgehog and Crash Bandicoot to League of Legends and Minecraft, but Super Mario Bros. (arguably the most iconic gaming properties of them all), is sadly missing!

I’d love to see Funko Pop! figures of the six core characters: Mario, Luigi, Toad, Princess Peach, Bowser & Yoshi. And should Funko be feeling really fancy, how about a line based around Mario Kart? Or maybe an 8-bit line?

Heck, I’d even snap up some Super Mario Bros. movie Funkos!

With all of the different characters, styles, costumes and games, Super Mario Bros. would be ideal for the Funko treatment. And if Mario can now be a Lego toy, then why not a Funko one too?!

Bucky O’Hare

Bucky-OHare

Bucky, Captain Bucky O’Hare; he goes where no ordinary rabbit would dare! And for my money, that should ALWAYS be a toy shelf.

BossLogic is the toy company currently tasked with creating a new series of Bucky O’Hare figures, but surely they could share the license with Funko, right?

The first wave of the line could include: Bucky, Jenny, Dead-Eye Duck & a Storm Toad. Later waves could include AFC Blinky, Willy DuWitt and Toad Borg, amongst others.

Dungeons & Dragons

Tell me this isn’t a line of Funko Pop! figures you would LOVE to see?

Based on the ’80s D&D cartoon, a Dungeons & Dragons line of Funko Pop! figures could easily stretch across two waves to include: Bobby, Uni, Hank, Eric, Presto, Diana, Sheila, Venger, Dungeon Master, Tiamat and Shadow Demon.

Come on Funko, make it happen!

Galaxy Rangers

And speaking of oft-overlooked ‘80s properties, can I get a bit of love for The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers, please?

Come on Funko, give me Goose, Niko, Doc and Zachary Foxx! Throw in the Queen of the Crown and Captain Kidd and you’ve got yourself an awesome wave of figures!

Gummi Bears

Considering the renewed interest in Disney cartoons, thanks to the arrival of Disney+, this one seems like a no-brainier. In fact, it’s such a no-brainer that all I’m going to say is…

*Clears throat, then clasps hands together in prayer*

PLEASE, FUNKO, GIVE US THE GUMMI BEARS!

Mighty Max

I will keep this one simple: Either base a Funko Pop! line on the cartoon series or be inventive and find a way to base it on the toy line. Either way, Mighty Max Funko Pop! figures NEED to happen!

The Death of Superman

There are countless Funko Pops! based on DC Comics characters and a number are Superman-related; but where are the Death of Superman figures? This iconic comic book storyline from the 1990s was huge, so how about some Funko Pops!?

Cyborg Superman is now available, but give me Superboy, the Eradicator, and Steel, along with a bloodied and battered twin-set of Superman and Doomsday!

Monster in My Pocket

And finally, back during the 1990s, Monster in My Pocket was a fun collection of pocket-sized figures inspired by some of the most iconic monsters of all time. The line ran for a number of years and covered pretty much every monster under the sun, from the Werewolf and the Hunchback, to Baba Yaga, the Kraken and The Invisible Man.

Keeping the same design of the original toys, the figures could be produced in single colour form (red, green, purple, yellow etc) and could include various waves to incorporate the many, many monsters.

Think that’s enough?

Me neither!

Additional Funko Pop! figures that I would love to see, include:

  • Dick Tracy (based on the 1990 movie)
  • Madballs
  • The BMX Bandits
  • The Mask: The Animated Series
  • Swat Kats
  • Jonny Quest
  • The Raccoons
  • The Pirates of Dark Water
  • Visionaries
  • Bionic Six
  • Dirty Harry
