We’ve past the halfway point of Masters of the Universe: Tales from Eternia this week, with episode eleven, ‘Man-At-Arms and Trap Jaw are Trapped!‘, and as you might expect, the titular duo are indeed trapped. The pair get stuck in a mining cave, it appears as if there is no way out, and Man-At-Arms and Trap Jaw have to join forces to escape.
Similar to episode nine, where He-Man and Skeletor have to call a temporary truce, Man-At-Arms and Trap Jaw find themselves in a similar predicament. What follows is a message about putting aside differences and working together for the greater good.
And it’s a message which is echoed by Teela and Evil-Lyn who also join forces in this episode. The pair attempt to save Man-At-Arms and Trap Jaw (even though they ultimately don’t need the assistance), and come up with a plan to mount a rescue.
It all works out for the best and friendships are temporarily forged. And do you know what? They don’t require the assistance of He-Man or Skeletor, who sit out this episode completely.
Is that a shame? Nah, not really, as the quartet of characters in this week’s story are enough to make this episode work well enough.
OK, so the message of team work is one which has already been covered on Tales from Eternia, so the show fails to cover new ground, but ‘Man-At-Arms and Trap Jaw are Trapped!‘ remains a fun little story. Not only does it highlight a worthy moral, but it also suggests that maybe the good guys and the bad guys aren’t the enemies they think they are.
It’s almost as if they are locked in a constant battle because this is something they’ve always done. The good guys are good, this automatically makes the bad guys bad, and they just stick to their roles – even if they don’t really want to.
Either way, this is another fun slice of Tales from Eternia goodness. If you’re not watching this show, you are missing out.
