In 2007, US teen sitcom, iCarly made its debut. The show – starring Miranda Cosgrove – followed the story of Seattle-based teenager, Carly Shay, who hosts her own web series.
Three years later, in 2010, fellow US teen sitcom, Victorious, hit television screens. Starring Victoria Justice, the show followed the story of Tori Vega – a teenager who enrolls at the performing arts school, Hollywood Arts.
In 2011, the two shows crossed over for a special story which placed both shows in the same universe. This connection would continue briefly in further episodes of each show, as well as through a spin-off series, Sam & Cat which teamed up characters from both shows.
But these three series weren’t the only shows connected to iCarly and Victorious. Other shows would also pop up in time.

Exploring the iCarly and Victorious Universe
As noted above, the iCarly/Victorious Universe began in 2007 with the first season of iCarly. The show proved popular with viewers and was soon followed by a second season in 2008, as well as a third in 2009.
In 2010, due to the show’s continued popularity, iCarly returned for a fourth season. At the same time, the first season of teen sitcom, Victorious made its debut.
At this point, Season Four of iCarly and Season One of Victorious ran concurrently. The two shows would then cross over via the special iCarly episode, ‘iParty with Victorious’, which established a shared universe.
In 2011 the two shows continued, with the fifth season of iCarly airing alongside the second season of Victorious. Both shows then returned in 2012 for iCarly’s sixth season, alongside Victorious’ third season – and both included an episode which made reference to the other show.
The sixth season was to be the last for iCarly, but later that same year Victorious returned for a fourth season. It would also be the show’s last.
The following year, in 2013, spin-off show, Sam & Cat made its debut. The show starred Jennette McCurdy as Sam Puckett from iCarly, alongside Ariana Grande as Cat Valentine from Victorious, and ran for one season.
At this point it appeared as if the iCarly and Victorious Universe had concluded, however, this wasn’t the case. In 2021, iCarly returned to screens via a revival series (also titled iCarly), which picked up with Carly Shay in real time.
The iCarly revival was a hit with viewers and was recommissioned for a second season in 2022. The show would then return for a third and final season in 2023.
Three years would pass before the next show made its debut in 2026. Conceived as a spinoff/sequel to Victorious, Hollywood Arts would follow the story of Tori’s sister, Trina Vega, as played by Daniella Monet.
