This September, tense thriller, Fall 2 arrives in cinemas. The movie – directed by Peter & Michael Spierig – stars Harriet Slater and Arsema Thomas, and focuses on two young women who travel to Thailand to tackle a treacherous plank walk on Mount Kwan, only for disaster to strike!
Describing the new movie, Lionsgate said: “After losing her fearless sister Hunter, a deeply damaged Jax sets out on a dangerous climb with Hunter’s old friend to honor her memory. As they tightrope walk the perilous planks of Mount Kwan, a terrifying rockslide leaves them stranded 5,000 feet above ground.
“In the face of vertigo-inducing sequences, dark truths, and cruel twists, Jax must confront her deepest fears head-on to fight for survival and closure.”
When Fall 2 arrives in cinemas in September expect it to be a popular choice with audiences. The original was a box-office success, as well as a big hit on streaming, and this sequel is likely to follow suit.
But when Fall 2 makes its debut, will it be suitable for all ages? In particular, will it be suitable for teenagers?
Let’s take a look at the age rating…
__
Fall 2 UK age rating

In the UK, Fall 2 has been awarded a ‘12A’ certificate by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). The film has received this rating due to “moderate threat, violence, injury detail, drug references, (and) strong language.”
In the UK, if a movie is awarded a ‘12A’ certificate it means the film is deemed most suitable for audiences aged 12 or over. However, children below the age of 12 can watch a ‘12A’ in a UK cinema, as long as they are accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.
Either way, based on the rating, the BBFC believe Fall 2 is most suited for audiences aged 12 and over, meaning it is fine for teenagers (i.e. audiences aged 13+). So, if the teen in your household wants to watch the movie, and you are OK with this, it should be fine.
It’s also worth noting the original Fall received a ’15’ certificate from the BBFC back in 2022. This means this sequel is deemed slightly lighter in tone and content than its predecessor as far as the UK censors are concerned.

Fall 2 US age rating

In the US, Fall 2 (aka Fall 2: Deadpoint) has been rated ‘PG-13’ by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPA). The movie has received this rating for “strong language, some violent content/bloody images and drug material.”
In the US, if a movie is rated ‘PG-13’ it means parents are advised to be cautious. Some of the content of the film may be inappropriate for children under the age of 13.
However, anyone can watch a ‘PG-13’ in a US cinema, irrespective of age. The film is also deemed suitable for teenagers (i.e. those aged 13+).
It’s also worth noting that in the US, the original Fall from 2022 also received a ‘PG-13’ rating. So, if your teens have watched the original and were fine with the tone and content, then they should be fine with this sequel.
