Blink and you’ll miss them! During the Danger Room sequence in the X-Men ’97 Season Two episode, ‘Danger.exe‘, the writers and animators of the hit animated show quietly filled Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters with a diverse group of 25 young mutants.
Some of these mutants are instantly recognisable to long-time Marvel fans, and are obvious to anyone who picked up a copy of Generation X or X-Force in the ’90s, or New X-Men in the ’00s. Others are a little more obscure, and not only are difficult to place, but also appear just once, in a very quick flash, making them easily lost in the mix.

Below is a list of the young mutant students who appear in the Danger Room scenes alongside Polaris, Morph, Storm, Forge, and Bishop. Some of these mutants appear seated, early in the scene, while others show up once the Danger Room starts getting… dangerous.
Oh, and as some of the characters are unidentifiable. As such, the list also includes the illusive mutants which appear to be original characters created for the series.

Unconfirmed mutants in ‘Danger.exe.’
The episode also includes three mutants who are unconfirmed characters, possibly included as original mutants, rather than established X-Men.
These include:
- A female mutant with red/green hair (previously seen on Genosha)
- A female mutant with a yellow shirt and red markings on face (previously seen on Genosha)
- A female mutant with a green top and blue pants
