It’s fair to say that 2026’s Masters of the Universe included its fair share of MOTU characters. From Teela, Cringer, and Mekaneck to Tri-Klops, Trap Jaw, and Goat Man, director Travis Knight wasn’t shy about stuffing his movie with a wealth of heroes and villains.
In fact, Masters of the Universe was so jam-packed with friends and foes, there wasn’t room to include everyone’s favourites. One or two icons simply couldn’t appear in the movie.
But no biggie – there is always room in the sequel, right? Every franchise needs room to grow and expand, and because various MOTU characters didn’t make the cut the first time around, they should be a shoe-in for the next adventure.
Speaking of which, below is a run-through of the characters who MUST appear in Masters of the Universe 2. These guys and gals need their time in the spotlight.
***SPOILERS AHEAD***SPOILERS AHEAD***SPOILERS AHEAD***

Mer-Man

OK, so a character who was notably absent from 2026’s Masters of the Universe was Mer-Man. The fishy foe, who is one of Skeletor’s most iconic minions, sat out of the film in favour of other lackeys.
Of all the characters on this list who must appear in a sequel, Mer-Man has to be right at the top because he is such an icon. And with Skeletor potentially out of the way, maybe it’s finally Mer-Man’s chance to shine as the big bad.

Slush Head

Speaking of somone who needs time in the spotlight, Masters of the Universe 2 could provide the perfect platform for Slush Head. Created as part of the not-so-well received 1989 cartoon, The New Adventures of He-Man, Slush Head has a funky design and deserves his chance to shine.
__
Clawful

And if more villains are needed (which of course they are), then Masters of the Universe 2 would certainly benefit from the inclusion of Clawful. Not only does he have a great name (awful villain with claws = Clawful), it would be fun to see him brought to life on the big screen.
Come on now, let’s make it snappy.
__
Stratos

Onto a much-missed hero now who didn’t appear in Masters of the Universe, but was sort of alluded to. Towards the end of the film there was talk of an avian situation developing, which He-Man rushed off to deal with.
This throw-away piece of dialogue appeared to suggest Stratos was operating somewhere on the fringes of the film, yet he sadly did not appear on screen. So, when it comes to a sequel it would good if the winged warrior popped up.
__
She-Ra

OK, let’s deal with She-Ra. If you stuck around for the mid-credit scene of Masters of the Universe (which you really should have) then you will know She-Ra made a very brief appearance.
This alone suggests She-Ra WILL be in the Masters sequel. But if for some reason He-Man’s sister doesn’t feature as a (major) character in the film, it’s fair to say MOTU fans will riot. Probably.
__
Orko

And from She-Ra to Orko, who also appears in a credit scene in Masters of the Universe. This quick, crowd-pleasing cameo must be a set-up for more to come, right?
Maybe. But even if Orko doesn’t get a bigger role in Masters of the Universe 2, at least bring him back for another credit scene where he can deliver a ‘moral of the day’.
__
Skeletor

I know what you’re thinking – how can Skeletor come back for a sequel? He’s done and dusted, isn’t he?
Well, maybe. Maybe not, if a certain scene in the movie is anything to be believed. After all, this is Skeletor we are talking about. If any villain can come back for more then it’s ol’ bone face.
Plus, let’s not rule out any flashbacks. Wouldn’t it be great to bring Skeletor back for a few jaunts back to the past to explain his early days as Keldor? You know it makes sense.
__
Hordak

OK, let’s presume Skeletor won’t return for Masters of the Universe 2 (it’s possible). If this is the case, then surely the next go-to villain is Hordak?
As chief of the Hoarde, Hordak seems like a good bet for the big bad of a sequel. Plus, if She-Ra is involved, Hordak is never far behind.
__
Catra

And if we get one member of the Hoarde, then let’s bring on more. There are various Hoarde members to choose from, including Shadow Weaver, Leech, Grizzlor etc, but it would be marvellous to see Catra turn up for some cat-clawing action.
__
King Hssss

If Hordak and the Hoarde don’t feature in Masters of the Universe 2, then King Hssss needs to step up to the plate. Hssss and his Snake Men would make great adversaries for a super-sized sequel.
__
Gwildor

And finally, let’s see Gwildor brought out of retirement and slotted into Masters 2. The Thenurian locksmith, who featured in 1987’s Masters of the Universe, doesn’t necessarily need a huge role, but a cameo wouldn’t hurt.
