In 2008, Australian actress, Margot Robbie made her feature-film debut in the movie, Vigilante. From here she followed up her film acting work with appearances in pictures such as ICU, and About Time.
To begin with, her on-screen roles were small parts, but soon her star status began to grow as audiences took the actor to their hearts. This in turn increased Robbie’s presence on the big screen, and thanks to movies such as The Wolf of Wall Street, Focus, and I, Tonya, the actress was propelled toward the icon she would eventually become.

As noted above, Margot Robbie began her movie career in 2008 with a part in the action film, Vigilante, before continuing with the horror-thriller, I.C.U. Neither film was particularly strong, but both gave Robbie the opportunity to develop her acting skills.

2010s

Moving into the 2010s and it was this decade which proved to be fruitful for Margot Robbie. After kicking off the decade with a role in the romantic comedy, About Time, Robbie played the part of Naomi Lapaglia in 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street, appearing opposite Leonardo DiCaprio.
From here, more films followed, including Focus with Will Smith, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot with Tina Fay, and The Legend of Tarzan with Alexander Skarsgård. All of these movies helped to raise Robbie’s profile, but bigger movies quickly followed, including 2016’s Suicide Squad.
Taking on the role of comic book character Harley Quinn, Robbie quickly became a household name. In fact, while Suicide Squad itself was not warmly received by critics, Quinn was, with Robbie’s portrayal being noted as a particular highlight.
As the decade continued, Robbie took on the role of Tonya Harding in the bio-pic, I, Tonya, before taking roles in Goodbye Christopher Robin, Dreamland, and Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. Robbie also lent her voice to the animated children’s movie, Peter Rabbit.

2020s

Into the 2020s and Robbie’s career continued to go from strength-to-strength. She began the decade by reprising the role of Harley Quinn in Birds of Prey, and The Suicide Squad, before fronting Babylon alongside Brad Pitt.
However, Robbie’s biggest movie came in 2023, when she played the titular role in the brilliant comedy, Barbie. The movie was both a critical and commercial success, going on to become the highest grossing film of the year.
