Academy Award nominee, Margot Robbie is in talks to portray Barbie on the big screen.
The actress – known for her roles in Suicide Squad (2016) and I, Tonya (2017) – is reportedly up for the part of Barbie in a new movie about the iconic doll. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Robbie will also be on board the project as a producer.
The movie is currently in development with Warner Bros. Pictures. A previous Barbie project – which never got off the ground – was in development with Sony, before the option expired.
No further details at this time.
Should you want to know more about Barbie (and who wouldn’t?) I highly recommend the Barbie-centric episode of docu-series, The Toys That Made Us. The episode (and the entire show) can be streamed on Netflix.

If the Barbie movie happens, and it’s a success, then I’m pretty sure we’d see Sindy and some point too.
