In 1999, up-and-coming actor, Michael B. Jordan took a small role in the film, Black and White. It was a bit-part, nothing more, but it was the first step on the road to bigger pictures.

Those pictures came in the shape of Red Tails, Chronicle, Creed, and Black Panther, to name but a few. It’s fair to say from small acorns grew a prolific film career, and over time Jordan became a huge star.

1990s and 2000s

As noted above, Michael B. Jordan began his film career in 1999 with a small part in Black and White. From here he slid into the 2000s with Hardball, before taking a role in Blackout.

2010s

Into the 2010s, and this is the point where things really began to click. After beginning the decade in Red Tails, he took on the breakthrough role of Steve in sci-fi thriller, Chronicle.

From here he teamed up with director Ryan Coogler for the 2013 drama, Fruitvale Station, 2015’s Creed, 2018’s Black Panther. Meanwhile, other films included Fantastic Four, Fahrenheit 451, and Just Mercy.

Into the 2020s and Jordan continued to go from strength-to-strength. He started the decade in the thriller, Without Remorse, cameoed in Space Jam: A New Legacy, and directed and starred in Creed III.

However, it was 2025’s Sinners which really hit the spot. Enjoyed by critics and audiences alike, the film became one of the big success stories of the year, with Jordan playing a dual role in the picture.
