In 2019, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries aired the television movie, Picture Perfect Mysteries: Newlywed and Dead. The mystery thriller – which starred Alexa PenaVega and Carlos PenaVega – followed the story of professional wedding photographer, Allie Adams, who teams up with Detective Sam Acosta, when she gets caught up in a murder investigation.

Upon making its debut, Newlywed and Dead proved popular with viewers, which led to a collection of follow-ups beginning in 2020. The movies continued Allie and Sam’s story, and presented viewers with more mystery and intrigue.

As noted above, the first entry in the Picture Perfect Mysteries series was Newlywed and Dead. The film focused on New England wedding photographer, Allie Adams, who finds herself in the midst of a murder investigation, when a groom is shot and killed during the first dance.

In the film, suspicion quickly turns on Allie’s brother, Greg, because he is the ex-boyfriend of the bride. But knowing that Greg could never have killed the groom, Allie teams up with Detective Sam Acosta to uncover the truth.

Picture Perfect Mysteries: Dead Over Diamonds (2020)

Picking up after the events of Newlywed and Dead, the second entry in the Picture Perfect Mysteries series was Dead Over Diamonds. In this movie, Allie and Sam join forces once again to investigate a stolen necklace.

Picture Perfect Mysteries: Exit, Stage Death (2020)

In the third entry in the Picture Perfect Mysteries series, Allie is caught up in another murder mystery when she discovers the dead body of an actress who has been killed during the opening night of a new play. Working with Sam, Allie attempts to help solve the case and catch the killer.
