In 2010, the surreal animated series, Regular Show, made its debut on Cartoon Network. The series followed the lives of a bluejay and a raccoon who work as groundskeepers at the local park.

The series proved to be a big hit with audiences, and ran for multiple seasons, clocking up 261 episodes in the process. Regular Show was also accompanied by a movie, with events taking place within the series.

But if you’re not familiar with Regular Show you might be asking yourself how many seasons are there, and where does the movie fit in? Well, don’t worry, because in this post I am providing you with all those answers, so you will know how to watch the show and the movie in order.

Understanding Regular Show

Before explaining the order of the seasons and the movie, it is important to understand the creation and development of Regular Show. While the series first got off the ground in 2010, Regular Show actually dates back to an earlier point in time.

In 2005, US animator J. G. Quintel created the animated short, ‘The Naive Man from Lolliland’. The short was created when Quintel was at college and in 2006 was followed by a second short under the title ‘2 in the AM PM’.

Both of these shorts were initially released online, before making their way onto television. The shorts proved popular with audiences, and after gaining the attention of Cartoon Network they led to the development of a full-length episode, which would essentially become the pilot for Regular Show.

This pilot episode aired on Cartoon Network’s website in 2009, and due to the success it found online, this convinced the network to green light Regular Show as a full series. The first season of Regular Show made its television debut in 2010, and was soon followed by a second season, as well as a third, a fourth, a fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth.

While the series was on air, Cartoon Network also commissioned a series of Regular Show shorts, designed to pop up during the course of the show’s run. The first short aired during the events of season two, while additional shorts aired during seasons six to eight.

In addition to the above, Regular Show was also accompanied by a movie. This movie – appropriately titled Regular Show: The Movie – made its debut in 2015, and was set during the events of season seven.
