Last night in the US, Hallmark’s new Signature Mystery movie, Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate made its debut on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. The film – which is based on the Goldy Schulz books by Diane Mott Davidson – stars Niki DeLoach and Andrew Walker, and follows the story of a single mom who joins forces with a detective to solve a murder.

As with all new Hallmark movies, the Hallmark social media team Tweeted about Curious Caterer last night, to connect with fans and promote the new movie as the film went out. This gave online audiences the opportunity to interact with Hallmark and share their views about Curious Caterer – and the feedback from last night was very encouraging!

Otherwise we may have to storm the doors of @hallmarkmovie, I’d be willing to plan a peaceful protest.”

But it wasn’t just fans who were on Twitter last night, Curious Caterer stars, Andrew Walker and Nikki DeLoach, wanted to offer their thanks to the audience and to Hallmark for making the movie a reality.

Walker said: “Thank you everyone for tuning into our mystery movie #CuriousCaterer tonight so grateful for your love and support.” DeLoach commented: “Thank you all so much for tuning in and tweeting with us. This was such a joy to make. I hope you enjoyed the ride. And thank you to our network, producers, writers, director, entire cast and crew for everything you did to bring this to life.”

And of course, their comments were quickly followed by more praise from Twitter users, with further Tweets saying: “So enjoyed it, and hope there will be more! Thank you all for your hard work!”, “Absolutely loved the movie”, and of course the inevitable question from one fan: “When’s the next one @nikkideloach?”

So, as you can see from the comments above, many, many viewers enjoyed watching Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate last night, and they have made it very clear they would like some more; but will there be another instalment? Well, it’s highly possible.

Although Hallmark is remaining tight-lipped about the possibility of more films, the network is always keen to get new mystery series off the ground, so this could be the first in a new series. Plus, there are lots of Goldy Schulz books to inspire further instalments, so there is certainly plenty of material to work from.

But for now, fans have the one movie to enjoy, and the hope that more will follow. And of course, for those who missed it last night, Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate gets a repeat screening at 5pm on Monday April 11th, so there is still time to play catch up!
