**Warning: The following post includes spoilers for Black Widow. If you are trying to actively avoid spoilers for the movie, then move along – this is not the post for you.**

Black Widow is popping up in cinemas all around the world and is making its debut on Disney+ Premier Access. However, if you’re busy over the next few days and you can’t get to watch the film any time soon, you might be dying to know something very important about the story: Does Black Widow include any cameos from the Avengers?

This is a very valid question to ask, as many Marvel movies include quick appearances from other heroes. This movie is also set in the past, at a time when plenty of key characters were popping up all over the MCU.

It’s also an important question to ponder, because for the past year or so, it has been heavily rumoured that Robert Downey Jr. might drop by for a quick cameo as Tony Stark/Iron Man. Sure, Stark was killed off during the events of Avengers: Endgame, but Black Widow takes place a few years before Thanos arrives on Earth, so it is entirely possible that RDJ could show up.

Well, if the Avengers question is at the forefront of your mind, then let me help you out, with a very simple answer…

Black Widow does not feature any cameos from the Avengers. Robert Downey Jr. does not appear in the movie, neither does Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson or Mark Ruffalo.

The Avengers are referenced in the movie, with the likes of Falcon, Captain America and Ant-Man all getting a namecheck, but none of the actors appear in a guest role. The movie includes footage of Black Panther, but this is taken from Captain America: Civil War, while a photograph of Hawkeye is the closest that Jeremy Renner gets to appearing in the film.

While Black Widow does not include any cameos from the Avengers, the film does include a small role for General Thaddeus Ross, as played by William Hurt. Hurt has appeared in multiple MCU movies, dating all the way back to 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, and now tends to crop up in the Marvel movies and shows that feature military-related scenes.

In terms of significant cameos, Julia Louis-Dreyfus appears in a small cameo in Black Widow’s post credit scene – and this is the ‘big’ cameo of the film. The actress reprises the role of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, a character she previously played in the Marvel TV show, Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Expect to see more of Julia Louis-Dreyfus in future Marvel movies and TV shows.
