In 1930, Belgian cartoonist, Hergé (aka Georges Prosper Remi) published Tintin in the Land of the Soviets. The comic followed the story of Belgian reporter Tintin, as he was sent on an assignment to report on the policies of Joseph Stalin’s government.
Tintin in the Land of the Soviets was a hit with readers and was quickly followed by another entry in the series, Tintin in the Congo. Like its predecessor, this story was also a success and led to further adventures.
Over a 56-year span (1930 – 1986), 24 Tintin books were published, all under the banner heading of The Adventures of Tintin series. The books placed Tintin (and his dog, Snowy) in some fantastical situations, alongside some colourful and imaginative characters.

I received my first Tin Tin book when I was a child in Belgium and I still treasure it to this day.
It is a bit irritating that the English version insists on calling the dog, “Snowy” when his proper name is Milou which has nothing to do with snow.
They also brutalize the title of a book by calling it the Secret of the Unicorn??? No such book.
The book is about the secret of a ship called “Licorne”.

A Tintin fan ever since I started reading them as a 10 year old. Was always intrigued by there being a mention of Marlinspike in Cigars of the Pharaoh since Captain Haddock wasn’t around.
As Cigars of the Pharaoh was written much before Crab with the Golden Claws and Red Rakham’s Treasure, there seems to be a mistake in the English translation because Snowy mentions he’d settle for Marlinspike (on the first page).
