Since arriving on screens in 2020, the Martha’s Vineyard Mystery movies have proved very popular with fans. The film series – which stars Jesse Metcalfe and Sarah Lind – have built up a strong and loyal following on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, and this has led to the production of four films.
The most recent entry in the series was Poisoned in Paradise which aired on May 16th 2021. The film provided super sleuthers with the opportunity to dive into another well-written mystery, but it also left fans wanting more.
But will there be any more? Will there be another Martha’s Vineyard Mystery movie?
Well, there is good news…
Another Martha’s Vineyard Mystery movie is on the horizon. The film – the fifth in the series – is tentatively titled: American Dreamer: A Martha’s Vineyard Mystery and is currently scheduled to air sometime in 2021.
The announcement of a fifth movie came back in March, when news broke that Jesse Metcalfe was to bow out of the TV show, Chesapeake Shores. It was announced that the actor would be leaving the role of Trace Riley, early into the show’s fifth season, but he wouldn’t be going too far.
In a statement (via Deadline), Hallmark said: “Jesse is a valued member of the Crown Media family; we look forward to continuing to work with him on projects, including original movies on Hallmark Channel, as well as his Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ movie series, Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries, the next instalment of which premieres on May 16. In addition, we are currently in development on another movie in the series.”
When Hallmark issued the statement about Chesapeake Shores, it noted that two new Martha’s Vineyard Mystery movies were on the horizon. And as we now know, the first of these movies was Poisoned in Paradise, which has since aired.
As for the second movie, this is now gearing up to go into production – and Jesse Metcalfe can’t wait to get going!
In a recent interaction on Twitter, a fan (who didn’t know a fifth movie was coming) asked the actor if he was making any new Martha’s Vineyard Mystery movies? Metcalfe responded with enthusiasm, and confirmation, by saying: “I’m definitely excited to get back into production on a new #MarthasVineyardMystery!!!”
So, there you have it. You can expect to see at least one more Martha’s Vineyard Mystery movie in 2021.
Hopefully it won’t be too far away.

I think Hallmark should bring back some of the shows that people did not leave. When everyone left it really hurt the mystery part of Hallmark. The movies are ok but they can not take the mystery place.
