Avengers: Endgame is now the sixth highest grossing movie of all time.
OF ALL TIME.
The film – the 22nd entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – was released just over a week ago and has already rocketed into sixth place on the list of highest grossing movies. To put things into perspective, on Sunday the film was in 18th place – it has jumped 12 positions since then!
Endgame has bypassed the likes of Beauty and the Beast (2017), Frozen (2013), Furious 7 (2015) and many more. The film has even overtaken The Avengers (2012).
To date Endgame has taken a whopping $1,664,151,786 at the worldwide box office. Within a matter of days (if not tomorrow) Endgame will move into fifth place, surpassing Jurassic World (2015) in the process.
Once the film moves into fifth place it then needs to crack the $2 billion mark in order to hit the top four where it’ll be up against Infinity War (2018), The Force Awakens (2015), Titanic (1997) and the mighty Avatar (2009). Based on how well it has performed so far, Endgame stands a very good chance of hitting the same heights of at least one of these movies within the next week.
In even more good news for Marvel Studios/Disney, the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole has raked in over $20 billion across the course of the 22-movie series. Wow. This is truly a *cough* modern marvel.
