The bees have arrived in Manchester!

Or rather, a bee-inspired art installation has arrived in Manchester.

Bee in the City is an art installation, which is set to take over the city this summer. Created by Wild in Art, more than 100 bees (see below) will be dotted throughout the city centre, at various locations including Deansgate and the Royal Exchange, amongst others.

According to the Bee in the City website, “Over 100 Bees are waiting to be discovered on this free, family-fun trail, taking in the city’s landmarks and undiscovered gems. Each Bee has been designed by a different artist and celebrates the unique buzz of Manchester, from its industrial heritage to its vibrant music scene. An inspirational learning project will give schools, colleges and community groups the chance to take part.”

The bee has become synonymous with Manchester, so it seems only appropriate to see these guys popping up to offer a little colour and character to the city this summer. Plus, who doesn’t want to track them all down?

Bee in the City runs from July 23rd until September 23rd… although a few have already found a home in the Arndale Centre.

Happy hunting!
