The US division of Toys R Us has entered its final days of business.
The company – which announced in March 2018 that it would close all its US stores – is preparing to shut up shop for good. Toys R Us is expected to close within the next two weeks.
Over the weekend, the official Toys R Us Twitter account posted a video highlighting its current 50%-70% sale, with the caption “The countdown is on…”
Meanwhile, the official Toys R Us website is currently displaying the following, rather sad message:
“Thanks to each of you who shared your amazing journey to (and through) parenthood with us, and to every grandparent, aunt, uncle, brother and sister who’s built a couch-cushion rocket ship, made up a hero adventure, or invented something gooey. Promise us just this one thing: Don’t ever grow up. Play on!”
*Tries not to cry*
It looks like it really is time to say goodbye.
The writing had been on the wall for a long time, but it is still such a shame that Toys R Us has had to go.
Personally, I’ve got many really happy memories of Toys R Us which I will hold on to. For now, good luck to all the staff that are still employed by the company.
