This week BOOM! Studios releases the first in a 12-part series of comics focusing on ’80s classic, Labyrinth (1984). The comic – appropriately titled Jim Henson’s Labyrinth – goes on sale from Wednesday 28th March and promises to provide new details on the Goblin King.

Simon Spurrier is the writer of Jim Henson’s Labyrinth, while Daniel Bayliss is providing the art. Fiona Staples is the cover artist on the regular edition.

BOOM! Studios has released a little snippet to describe the book, which reads as follows:

“Before Sarah braved the Labyrinth to save her brother, another young woman sought to save a young boy named Jareth from the clutches of the Goblin King. The untold history of the Goblin King and the history of Jim Henson’s Labyrinth. He wasn’t always the Goblin King…”
