What is Hallmark’s Christmas in Blue Dog Valley?

By Alex Wiggan

This holiday season, Hallmark is delivering a stack of new movies as part of Countdown to Christmas 2026. Amongst the new offerings is Christmas in Blue Dog Valley.

The movie follows the story of a veterinarian who moves to Blue Dog Valley at Christmas time, only to find herself getting the cold shoulder from the locals. However, with a little help, she is soon able to prove herself to the naysayers.

Describing the new movie, Hallmark, said: “On-set veterinarian Goldie MacKenzie (Erin Cahill) leaves the glamour of Hollywood behind to buy a family-run veterinary clinic in tight-knit Blue Dog Valley, arriving just in time for the town’s cherished Christmas season. When Dr. Gable, the clinic’s long-time owner unexpectedly ends up out of town, Goldie is hosted by his handsome son Cohen (Andrew Walker), the black sheep of the family because he decided to forego their expectation of becoming a vet.

“Cohen and Goldie get off on the wrong foot, but when the folks of Blue Dog Valley cold shoulder ‘the newcomer’, Cohen teams up with Goldie to win over even the frostiest of community members. Goldie is also aided by the mysterious canine she dubs Blue, whose spontaneous appearances always seem to guide Goldie to exactly where she needs to be.

“As Goldie works hard to prove herself to the townspeople when furry and Christmas crises arise, she finds herself pulled towards the very heart of her new-found home… and a certain black sheep.”

Christmas in Blue Dog Valley stars Erin Cahill as Goldie, and Andrew Walker as Cohen. Both will be familiar to Hallmark fans, with Cahill known for films such as Christmas Bedtime Stories and Hearts in the Game, and Walker appearing in movies including Love on Ice, and Three Wise Men and a Baby.

Should you wish to take a look at Christmas in Blue Dog Valley, the new movie makes its debut on Hallmark Channel on Saturday November 21st. The film will air at 8/7c.
