In the latest episode of Masters of the Universe: Tales from Eternia, it’s off to Snake Mountain for a story which largely revolves around Beast Man and Trap Jaw. In ‘Who Will Be Skeletor’s #1 Henchman?!’, the troublesome pair are at odds with each other as they debate which one should become Skeletor’s second in command.
And it’s an argument neither can seem to settle. So, in comes Skeletor with a mission for them both to undertake, which Beast Man and Trap Jaw believe will prove once and for all who is the next top dog.
Does it? Well, you’ll have to watch this new episode of the excellent Masters of the Universe: Tales from Eternia to find out.
Although, before you do embark on this all-new four-minute adventure, be advised, there is no He-Man in this instalment of the show. In fact, other than a very quick cameo from Man-At-Arms and Teela, ‘Who Will Be Skeletor’s #1 Henchman?!‘ is all about the bad guys and gals of Snake Mountain.
The great thing is, there is a heck of a lot of enjoyment to be mined from seeing Beast Man and Trap Jaw taking centre stage. Skeletor’s henchmen often get pushed to the background, but here they are given a chance to shine.
And this is really important if you consider the target audience of Masters of the Universe: Tales from Eternia. For kids watching this show, who maybe have action figures of Beast Man and Trap Jaw they don’t tend to play with as often as they play with Skeletor and He-Man, now is the time for them to be inspired by this episode and recreate some super villain rivalry on the kitchen table.
As with all of the previous episodes of Masters of the Universe: Tales from Eternia, there are plenty of jokes in ‘Who Will Be Skeletor’s #1 Henchman?!‘, and some great action too. There’s also a bit of screen time for Skeletor and Evil-Lyn, and a little visit to the Tar Swamp.
Everything whizzes by super quick, but the story wraps up in a satisfactory way. There’s a beginning, middle, and an end, and it really is clear that everyone involved with this show is keen to deliver a perfect slice of escapism week in, week out.
