In 2015, comic book publisher, Dark Horse Comics released the marvellous and invaluable coffee table art book, The Art of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. The glossy tome took a deep dive into the imaginative, immersive, and inspirational artwork featured in the Masters of the Universe mythology.
From the days of the original toys and cartoon show from the early 1980s, through to the continuation series in the ’90s, the reboot in the ’00s, and so much more since, The Art of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe packed in a great deal of detail into 320 awesome pages. It was chunky, informative, and brilliant for fans.
Following the publication of The Art of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Dark Horse published further Masters of the Universe books, picking up on different aspects of He-Man’s world. Some of these coffee table books focused specifically on the toys, others on the artwork of the Netflix shows, while some reprinted the classic minicomics which previously came bundled up with the action figures.
Dark Horse published books for all different corners of the fandom. Best of all, the books were written to appeal to long-time fans as well as newcomers.
