In 1992, Batman: The Animated Series made its debut. The cartoon show, based on the DC Comics character of the same name, followed the story of Batman and his ongoing battle for justice in Gotham City.
Upon making its debut, the series was deemed a hit with audiences and quickly became must-see television. Critics loved the smart writing, excellent plotting, and fantastic animation, while fans appreciated the care that was taken to ensure the Batman mythology was presented in a respectful and entertaining way.
One of the stand-out aspects of Batman: The Animated Series was its cast of villainous characters. One of these rogues was Poison Ivy aka Dr. Pamela Isley, who appeared in the series multiple times.

In total, Poison Ivy/Dr. Pamela Isley appeared 15 times. This breaks down as nine main appearances and six cameos, beginning with Pretty Poison.
Pretty Poison
Poison Ivy made her debut in the episode Pretty Poison. In this episode, District Attorney Harvey Dent has a new girlfriend in the shape of Pamela Isley, who he is just crazy about.
But when Harvey suddenly becomes ill at a dinner date with Pamela and Bruce Wayne, Batman begins to suspect foul play. And it’s not long before he comes to discover that Pamela Isley is secretly a plant-obsessed villain known as Poison Ivy, who has a particular dislike for Harvey Dent.
Eternal Youth
In Eternal Youth, wealthy business men and women are disappearing under mysterious circumstances at a supposed health spa. The same health spa which Bruce Wayne’s butler, Alfred attends.
After Batman investigates he uncovers a sinister plot involving Poison Ivy. But can Batman save Alfred from Ivy’s clutches?
Almost Got ‘Im
Poison Ivy’s next main appearance is in the superb ensemble episode, Almost Go ‘Im. In this story, Ivy, the Joker, Penguin, Two-Face, and Killer Croc meet up for a game of poker.
While playing the game, each villain swaps stories about how they almost bumped off Batman. But as the evening of cards plays out, all is not quite what it seems.
Harley and Ivy
In Harley and Ivy, the Joker kicks Harley Quinn out of his hideout and tells her to beat it. Frustrated, Harley heads to the Gotham museum to pull off a heist, to show the Joker how capable she is.
While in the museum, Harley crosses paths with Poison Ivy. Realising they could make a great team, Harley and Ivy join forces – much to Joker’s annoyance.
House and Garden
In House and Garden, Poison Ivy has seemingly turned her back on crime. She’s now married, is a step-mom to two young boys, and she has become the perfect home maker.
But if Ivy has really put her villainous past behind here, then who is behind a series of kidnappings involving plant-like creatures? Could Ivy be hiding a big secret?
Trial
In Trial, all of the major villains in Gotham City, including Poison Ivy, join forces to put Batman on trial. The villains believe the Caped Crusader is responsible for all the troubles in their lives and he deserves to face a court of law, presided over by Judge Joker.
Holiday Knights
Ivy’s next major appearance is in the holiday-themed episode, Holiday Knights. The episode comprises three stories, with Ivy appearing in the first tale set on December 22nd.
In this story, Ivy puts Bruce Wayne under her spell, leading to a humorous adventure where Bruce is controlled by Ivy and Harley Quinn.
Girls’ Night Out
In Girls’ Night Out, Ivy and Harley join forces with Livewire to conducted a crime spree across Gotham. But with Batman out of town and Superman busy, it’s up to Batgirl and Supergirl to stop them!
Chemistry
In Chemistry, while Bruce Wayne is attending the wedding of Veronica Vreeland he meets the seemingly perfect Susan Maguire. The two hit it off, fall in love, and soon there is talk of marriage.
But there’s something not quite right with Susan, and sadly for Bruce, Poison Ivy is involved.

Cameo appearances
In addition to the nine episodes listed above, Poison Ivy also appears in six additional episodes via very brief cameo appearances. The episodes include:
