As noted above, Bruce Campbell’s first movie role came in 1977 via the film, It’s Murder!. Here he played the part of a police officer, which gave him his first taste of feature-length films, even if it was a small role.

Then in 1981 Campbell’s star status took a significant leap when he starred as Ash in director Sam Raimi’s horror comedy, The Evil Dead. This was a role he reprised in 1987 for sequel, Evil Dead II, and it helped to really kick-start his career moving forward, through this decade and beyond.
