The Candyman movies

Candyman (1992)

The first entry in the Candyman movie series made its debut in 1992. Based on a short story by Clive Barker, the movie followed the story of Helen Lyle, a Chicago graduate student who is working on a thesis involving urban legends and folklore.

As part of Helen’s work she starts to look into the story of the so-called Candyman – a hook-handed ghost who appears whenever his name is recited in front of the mirror. As Helen delves further into the Candyman’s history, she finds herself getting out of her depth. (101 mins)

Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh (1995)

The second entry in the Candyman movie series arrived in 1995 under the title, Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh. In this film, New Orleans school teacher, Annie Tarrant becomes the latest target of the Candyman. (95 mins)

Candyman: Day of the Dead (1999)

In movie No. 3, Candyman: Day of the Dead, Caroline McKeever, daughter of Annie Tarrant is the latest victim to find herself in the sights of the Candyman. (93 mins)

Candyman (2021)

For movie No. 4, the series returns to the Chicago neighbourhood where the Candyman legend began. The area has been gentrified, but something lurks in the shadows. (91 mins)
