What is the order of the Morning Show Mysteries movies?

In 2018, Hallmark aired the first in a series of ‘Signature Mystery Movies’ under the banner heading Morning Show Mysteries. The film – Morning Show Mysteries: Mortal Mishaps – hit screens on January 21st 2018, and centred around a TV chef and a homicide detective, who become mixed up in a murder investigation.

In the film Holly Robinson Peete took on the role of Billie Blessings – a beloved chef and restaurant owner, who also hosts a segment on morning television. During the course of the movie, Billie becomes the prime suspect in a murder case, when one of the TV executives at the network dies from poisoning.

Keen to clear her name, Billie begins her own investigation, with some help from detective Ian Jackson, as played by Rick Fox. However, Billie’s sleuthing potentially incriminates those closest to her while at the same time puts her own life in danger.

Upon making its debut, Morning Show Mysteries: Mortal Mishaps was a big hit with viewers and was quickly followed up with a sequel titled Morning Show Mysteries: Murder on the Menu. This second helping aired on the 22nd July 2018, and saw Billie Blessings caught up in yet another murder mystery.

Once again, this film was successful and this convinced Hallmark to continue the series. Lead stars Holly Robinson Peete and Rick Fox returned, creating a fan-favourite mystery series in the process.

The Morning Show Mysteries movies in order

As noted above, the Morning Show Mysteries movies began with Mortal Mishaps, then continued with Murder on the Menu. Both movies aired on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries in 2018.

Following the success of these two movies, Hallmark returned to the series in 2019 for three more entries: Morning Show Mysteries: A Murder in Mind, Morning Show Mysteries: Countdown to Murder, and Morning Show Mysteries: Death by Design. All three entries aired in April 2019, once again on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

In A Murder in Mind, Billie Blessings has to investigate a case involving murder, blackmail, and a television star, while in Countdown to Murder Billie and Ian Jackson investigate the death of a supermarket owner. Meanwhile, in Death by Design, a murder case comes very close to home when the twin sister of Billie’s best friend is murdered.

With all three of these instalments proving popular, Hallmark commissioned one further movie in the Morning Show Mysteries series, which aired in 2021. The film made its debut on May 23rd, under the title Morning Show Mysteries: Murder Ever After.
