How many Spider-Man Spider-Verse movies are there?

In 2018, animated comic book movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, arrived in cinemas. The film followed the story of teenager, Miles Morales, who is bitten by a radioactive spider and finds himself acquiring fantastical abilities similar to Spider-Man.

However, as Miles soon learns, he’s not the only being with super powers, and he is quickly joined by a collection of spider-people (and a spider-pig) from various different realities. All of these spider-men and spider-women have come to Miles’ Earth, in order to stop the villainous Kingpin from destroying the multiverse.

From here, Miles learns the importance of power and responsibility, and the ‘leap of faith’ it takes to become a hero. He also helps the audience understand that spider-heroes can come in all different shapes, sizes, races, and abilities. 

Released to an extremely positive response from critics, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was a big hit when it made its debut on the big screen. General audiences loved the film, it made a decent chunk of change at the box-office, and it quickly went on to become a firm favourite amongst fans of the Spider-Man movie series.

As such, it wasn’t long before a collection of sequels were produced, to continue Miles’ story. But how many Spider-Man Spider-Verse movies are there?

The Spider-Man Spider-Verse movies in order

To date there are three entries in the Spider-Man Spider-Verse movie series: 

• Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
• Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023)
• Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse (2024)
