In 2012, Australian crime drama, Bad Debts aired on television screens. The movie – which starred Guy Pearce – was based on the award-winning book of the same name by Peter Temple, and followed the story of Jack Irish, a criminal defence lawyer who becomes a debt collector.

Shortly after Bad Debts made its debut, the movie was followed by a sequel, Black Tide, which continued Jack’s story. Both films were hits with audiences, and were soon followed by a third entry, Dead Point, which aired in 2014.

With the movies proving popular with television audiences, the stories of Jack Irish were then reworked into a series. The series ran for three seasons, comprising 16 episodes in total.
