In 1976, American author Anne Rice published her gothic horror novel, Interview with the Vampire. The novel centred around a vampire called Louis de Pointe du Lac, who recounts his long and interesting life story to a reporter.

Due to the popularity of Interview with the Vampire, Rice followed up her novel with another instalment, this time told from the point-of-view of the vampire Lestat – a character who appeared in Interview with the Vampire. This novel – titled The Vampire Lestat – was then followed by another entry, The Queen of the Damned, and then another, The Tale of the Body Thief.

As the years passed by, and prior to her death in 2021, Rice wrote more books in this series, all centred around vampires. The books were collectively known as The Vampire Chronicles and over time they built up a strong and loyal fan-following.

But how many entries are there in The Vampire Chronicles series and what is the publishing order for all the books? For all those details, you’d best keep on readin’!
