The sun is shining, the temperature is rising, and that can only mean one thing: Summer is almost here. And with summer comes July, or more importantly for festive fans, Christmas in July!
Yep, it’s that time of the year again where Hallmark celebrates the winter holidays six months early, with a special Christmas in July programming event. This year’s event will run throughout the month of July, with some brand-new movies hitting the Hallmark Channel.
Those movies include: Campfire Christmas, My Grown-Up Christmas List, and Christmas in Toyland. These films will join a collection of old favourites, all popping up across the month.
Campfire Christmas will air on Saturday July 9th, with My Grown-Up Christmas List airing on Saturday July 16th, and Christmas in Toyland following on Saturday July 23rd. All three movies will air at 8/7c on their respective days.
The first of the new movies, Campfire Christmas, is directed by David I. Strasser and stars Tori Anderson, Corbin Bleu, and Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman. According to Hallmark, “Romance rekindles for Peyton and her closest friends when her parents decide to host a holiday themed reunion before selling their family-owned summer camp.”
The second movie, My Grown-Up Christmas List, is directed by Samantha Wan and stars Kayla Wallace and Kevin McGarry. The official blurb for this movie reads as follows: “Taylor, a journalist, and Luke, in the military, share a special bond that grows between them over the course of several Christmases that they spend together and apart.”
The third new movie for Hallmark’s Christmas in July event is Christmas in Toyland, which is directed by Bill Corcoran. The film stars Vanessa Lengies and Jesse Hutch.
The description for Christmas in Toyland reads: “A toy store data analyst attempts to save hundreds of jobs right before Christmas to help keep the in-store experience alive.”
As with all of Hallmark’s Christmas in July events, this year’s celebration is sure to be a popular one. Hallmark has built up a reputation for delivering fan-favourite holiday films, at key times of the year, and this year’s crop of new movies is likely to be another winner.
