If you’re a fan of the television series Heartstopper, then you’ll know that amongst all of the drama, all of the fine acting, and all of the romance, there is a character called Isaac. He’s a quiet character, who says very little in the show, but there is a clear understanding that he is an intelligent, thoughtful individual, who is an important person in the story.

Isaac is also very well read. In almost every scene he appears in, he has a book in his hand.

It doesn’t matter if he is in class, if he’s a spectator at a rugby match, or if he is hanging with his friends, Isaac always has one eye on his books. But what are those books? What is Isaac reading throughout Heartstopper?

Well, across the eight-episode series, Isaac can be seen reading multiple books, from a variety of different authors. He reads more than ten books across the course of the series, including one from Heartstopper author, Alice Oseman.

Unfortunately, not all the covers/titles of the books are visible to the audience, making it difficult or impossible to see what he is reading in every scene. However, ten book covers are visible, meaning fans can see the majority of his literature choices across the series.

Here are the books that Isaac is reading in Heartstopper:

  • Dune Messiah – Frank Herbert
  • Naruto Vol 72 – Masashi Kishimoto
  • A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder – Holly Jackson
  • Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austen
  • Proud – Gareth Thomas
  • Radio Silence – Alice Oseman
  • Gender Explorers – Juno Roche
  • Quantum Mechanics – Leonard Susskind
  • The Time Traveler’s Wife – Audrey Niffenegger
  • There is No Planet B – Mike Berners-Lee

An interesting mix of titles, right? But did you spot them all?

Have you been rewinding and fast-forwarding Heartstopper to try and see all the different books? Well, now you don’t have to!

But now that you know what Isaac is reading, maybe it’s time to check out these books for yourself. Heck, if he thinks they are worth reading, maybe you will too.
