This Q&A session highlights actors, characters and situations from the movies. Some of the questions are basic stuff, others are a little more detailed, but all should provide answers to your ever-pressing questions.

Zack Snyder was the main director on Justice League; however, he was not the only director. Five months before Justice League was scheduled to arrive in cinemas, Snyder stepped down from directing duties, due to the death of his daughter, Autumn Snyder.

With Snyder unavailable to complete the movie, Joss Whedon was brought in to handle the film’s post-production stages. Whedon had been involved with rewriting some of the scenes of the movie and during the post-production phase he oversaw some reshoots.

Steppenwolf was played by Ciarán Hinds, Jessie Eisenberg reprised the role of Lex Luthor from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Joe Manganiello played Deathstroke.

In addition to the above, the Joker appeared in a cameo role in Zack Snyder’s extended cut of Justice League, released in 2021. Jared Leto reprised the role, having previously played the Joker in Suicide Squad.

Why was a visual effect used on Henry Cavill’s face in Justice League?

Due to the need for reshoots in Justice League, Henry Cavill was required back on set to film additional material for his role as Superman. However, the actor was shooting the Paramount Pictures movie, Mission: Impossible – Fallout which proved problematic.

For his role in the Mission: Impossible sequel, Cavill’s character had a distinctive moustache – something which Superman did not have. Cavil was unable to shave the moustache for the Justice League reshoots, so digital effects were used to remove the facial hair during post-production.
