I know what you are thinking. You have worked your way through five Murder, She Baked movies, you have enjoyed them immensely, and now you want more. But the last Murder, She Baked movie was released in 2017, and because that was so long ago, you have given up hope of seeing another entry in the series.
Well, it is time to turn that frown upside down, because I bring great news. Hallmark has announced that a sixth Murder, She Baked movie is in production – and you will be seeing it very, very soon!
The sixth Murder, She Baked movie will be released during summer 2021. The as-yet-untitled film will star Alison Sweeney, Cameron Mathison, and Barbara Niven.
Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, said: “Big news, #Sleuthers! The Murder She Baked stars, Hannah @Ali_Sweeney and Mike @CameronMathison are teaming up together for an all new Hannah Swensen Mystery coming this summer, also starring @BarbaraNiven!”
Filming is already under way on the new Murder, She Baked movie, which is being filmed in Vancouver. Once production is complete, the movie will arrive on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, although an exact air date is still to be determined.
Lead actress, Alison Sweeney is very excited to be returning to screens and reprising the role of Hannah Swensen for the new film. Speaking in a statement, via ET, Sweeney said: “The fans have been so vocal in their love of these characters and it’s exciting to be bringing them back to life and to return to Hannah’s bakery where it all began.”
The plot of the sixth Murder, She Baked movie is largely being kept under wraps, but it has been announced that the story will focus on a murder at a gym. The events will take place while Hannah is planning her wedding to Mike Kingston.
Like its predecessors, the movie is based on the Hannah Swensen mystery novels – an extremely popular series of books from author Joanne Fluke. The book series has been on shelves since 2001, and has already clocked up 28 titles, as well as some associated stories.

Since publishing this post, the title of the new movie has been revealed as Sweet Revenge: A Hannah Swensen Mystery. It would appear that the Murder, She Baked movies will now run under the banner title of ‘A Hannah Swensen Mystery’ moving forward.
Sweet Revenge will air on August 8th 2021. Pat Williams is on directing duties.
