Over the course of the past year (and a bit) one of the things that UK film fans have missed out on, is seeing some of the huge blockbusters of 2020 & 2021 play out on the big screen. Due to the various lockdowns and restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, most cinemas were closed, which meant films had to be shifted to streaming services instead.

The move to home viewing was a blessing, because it was the only way to connect with movies. However, it did mean that certain pictures, that film fans would have liked to have seen on the big screen, had to play out on television sets instead.

One of these movies was the monster blockbuster, Godzilla vs. Kong – an epic clash between the titanic two-some! If ever there was a movie designed for the big screen it was this one, but alas, here in the UK we had to watch it in our living rooms.

But if you held off from watching Godzilla vs. Kong because you only wanted to watch it on the big screen, or you simply didn’t rent it, I have good news – Vue has confirmed that Godzilla vs. Kong WILL play in UK cinemas from Monday May 17th!

Yep, if you feel ready to go back to your local Vue cinema, and you are itching to see this movie as it was originally intended, then you had best get booking your tickets! Godzilla vs. Kong will be playing throughout the week (and quite likely for a little while after).

And it’s not just Big G and Kong that will be popping up at your local multiplex. Mortal Kombat will also be hitting the big screen, as will the live-action/animated kids’ movie, Tom & Jerry.

All three of these titles were previously made available to rent (and are still available to rent for that matter), but if the cinema experience is what you’re after, then now is your chance.

It should also be added that many Vue cinemas charge just £4.99 a ticket – which is handy if you are the only person who wants to see the movie… and you don’t want to shell out the £15.99 rental fee.

Anyway, if you’re heading out to the cinema next week, enjoy!
