If you’re a fan of Hallmark films, specifically films which air on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, then you will no doubt have come across the title of a new movie called To Catch a Spy. But what is it?
To Catch a Spy is a brand-new film for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, which is unconnected to any of the channel’s other Signature series. The movie stars Nathalie Kelley, Colin Donnell, Patti Murin and Davy Eduard King, and follows the story of Chloe Day (Kelley), who gets caught up in an intriguing mystery.
While working an assignment for Destination Traveler Magazine, Chloe is with her team in Malta, taking a look at the newly renovated Hotel Optima. However, renovations soon become the least of Chloe’s worries, when she witnesses some fall to their death at the hotel, which might not have been an accident.
To Catch a Spy is directed by Jeff Beesley, and written by Rick Garman. Garman has previously worked on a number of Hallmark projects, including The Perfect Bride films, as well as Valentine in the Vineyard and Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa.
To Catch a Spy was filmed on location in Malta, which provides the perfect backdrop to this murder mystery. Not only does Malta add a touch of international flavour to the story, it also offers a stunning setting, steeped in beautiful history.
Speaking about the location, in an interview via Hallmark, Nathalie Kelley, said: “On my very limited time off, I’ve been able to explore the island, see some of the older structures, and wow – just being somewhere surrounded by so much history is really a dream come true for me.”
If you want to check out To Catch a Spy, the movie will make its debut on June 20th 2021.
