Will there be a tenth Hailey Dean Mystery movie?

In 2016, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries aired Hailey Dean Mystery: Murder, With Love. The film, directed by Terry Ingram, starred Kellie Martin as the title character, and proved popular with audiences.

Over the next few years, more Hailey Dean Mystery movies followed, with the most recent entry making its debut in 2019. The film – Hailey Dean Mysteries: Killer Sentence – hit screens on May 19^th to become the ninth movie in the series.

But since the release of Killer Sentence, no further Hailey Dean Mystery movies have been produced, leading many fans to ask the all-important question: Will there be another Hailey Dean Mystery movie? And the answer, is ‘yes’.

According to actor, Viv Leacock, more Hailey Dean Mystery movies are being filmed. The actor – who plays the role of Fincher Garland in the movie series – made the announcement during a Twitter post in August 2020.

Speaking via the social media platform, Leacock said: “Missing my partner in solving crime, @Kellie_Martin, and all our amazing cast and crew!

“We will be back to filming more movies next year!!! I’m really looking forward to it!! Hope y’all are too!”

The news from Leacock was then confirmed by lead actress, Kellie Martin, who Tweeted:

“We can’t wait to make more #HaileyDean for you!”

What’s interesting to note about Viv Leacock’s Tweet is that he said the cast and crew were filming “more movies”. This suggests that not only will fans see a tenth Hailey Dean Mystery movie, but it is looking very likely that an eleventh movie is on the horizon too (and maybe beyond).

Since the announcement of more Hailey Dean Mystery movies, there have been no further updates. There is no official news on the number of films or what those films will be called.

But don’t worry – this news will no doubt follow in good time. And if you’re a Hailey Dean fan, this is certainly something to get excited about.

Of course, you may be asking, what is the delay? The last film came out in 2019, and it’s now mid-2021. Well, you probably have COVID-19 to thank for any delays.

The COVID-19 pandemic greatly impacted the movie and television industry throughout 2020, and is still having a ‘knock-on’ effect in 2021, so this could be the reason that things are taking a little longer than usual. Either way, more movies are coming, and that is the most important thing to remember.
