Did you know, that between 1956 and 1969, rock and roll star, Elvis Presley acted in a whopping 31 movies!?! That is an incredible amount of motion pictures to cram into the space of just 13 years.

And across those 31 movies, Elvis acted alongside multiple screen legends, including Mary Tyler Moore, Ed Asner, Dean Jones, Carolyn Jones, Walter Matthau, Ursula Andress, and Angela Lansbury, amongst others.

As you can see from the list above, between 1956 and 1969, there was only one year without an Elvis movie and that was 1959 – a period of time when Presley was serving in the U.S. Army.

From 1960 onward, Elvis Presley’s film schedule was at its most intense, with between two and three films being released every year.

It’s also important to note that while the majority of the films were not always regarded that highly (from a critical point of view) Elvis’ presence in the pictures made them profitable. His star power alone was a big box office draw, meaning if you put Presley in a picture it was sure to bring in some money.
