Today, I thought it would be fun to share the original Star Wars trailer – you know, back when Star Wars was just called Star Wars.
Long before Empire, Jedi, the Ewok movies, the Prequels, the Sequels, the stand-alone films and everything else in between, there was a trailer for a little movie called Star Wars. The trailer – which you can watch below – dates back to 1976, the year prior to the release of Star Wars.
This trailer is in good shape for a teaser from ‘76, because it has been restored using original footage. It was uploaded in 2016 by YouTuber, The ReDiscovered Future.
They don’t make trailers like this anymore, do they?
If only we’d known back then just how huge this film was going to be…
…we might have kept all our Star Wars toys in their packaging!

You are so right. This really takes me back. It was such a massive thing at the time. As soon as I saw the first one I was hooked,line and sinker. Well done George.
