Just when you thought geek life couldn’t get any better, along comes Hasbro to prove you wrong.
The toy manufacturer, which boasts many iconic toy licenses including Marvel Legends, Transformers, and G.I. Joe, is bringing The Real Ghostbusters back to toy shelves. And these aren’t just any ol’ Real Ghostbusters toys, these are re-releases of the original Kenner toys from the 1980s.
Look. Just look!

Hasbro announced these figures at New York Toy Fair 2020 (which is taking place this weekend in NYC) and released images on social media.
The images were accompanied by the following caption: “Just revealed at #NYTF! A REAL throwback for classic #Kenner fans. The Kenner Classics Ghostbusters line is exclusively available for pre-order at Walmart!”

The wave will include six figures, The Marshmallow Man, Slimer, Egon, Ray, Peter and Winston. The toys are exclusive to Walmart in the US… BUT fear not, if you live in the UK you can order them through a number of companies, including Zavvi (you can pre-order them now).
Each Ghostbuster comes with its own translucent ghost, while Slimer is accompanied by food accessories. The figures will be packaged on retro cards.
The Real Ghostbusters figures were originally produced by Kenner and released to coincide with the incredibly popular cartoon, The Real Ghostbusters which aired from 1986 until 1991. The series was hugely successful during its original run (especially in the UK) and has recently found a legion of new fans thanks to streaming sites such as Netflix and Amazon.
The figures are just a small snapshot of the GB toys that Hasbro is set to release this year. In addition to The Real Ghostbusters, the company also has toys lined up for Ghostbusters: Afterlife, as well as figures based on the 1984 movie.
So, what do we think? Pretty sweet, right?

That’s what I love to read! It’s great to know that it isn’t just collectors – but kids too. 🙂

Yeah, they’ve recently started watching The Real Ghostbusters on DVD, and they keep looking out for Ghostbusters toys. The Playmobil stuff is too expensive (and too big!) but these figures look great.
