Ryan Reynolds likes to troll the internet and guess what? He’s done it again.
Earlier today, Reynolds took to Twitter to draw attention to a leaked copy of his forthcoming movie, Detective Pikachu. He posted: “Um…. Attn @DetPikachuMovie @warnerbros”, before posting a link.
Anyone clicking on the link would be taken to a YouTube channel for Inspector Pikachu (not ‘Detective’), where a 1h 53min video was waiting. The video was labelled ‘POKÉMON Detective Pikachu: Full Picture’, suggesting this was in fact a full version of the new movie.
In fact, anyone clicking on the link would be convinced they were about to watch the film, because it starts as you might expect with credits and footage of the movie. But those willing to stick with the video, in the hopes they’d be able to see the movie in its entirety, soon discovered it was all a big joke.
Just over a minute into the movie, and Pikachu appeared. Or rather, a dancing Pikachu appeared.
And there he remained for the rest of the video.
Pikachu dancing on screen for almost two hours.
Well done, Mr. Reynolds. Well done.
