Avengers: Endgame (2019) is currently in cinemas smashing all kinds of box office records and stirring up a cavalcade of emotions amongst cinemagoers. For a large number of people Endgame will sit within their Top Ten list of comic book movies, but does it sit within yours?
Come to think of it, what films appear in your Top Ten list of super hero movies?
Here are mine, in no particular order…
—
Superman: The Movie (1978)

- For me, this is not only the BEST Superman film, this is also one of the best films ever. I could watch this picture over and over again – and I do!
—
Batman Begins (2005

- The Dark Knight (2008) is a fantastic film, but director Christopher Nolan out did himself with Begins.
—
Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

- An excellent cast, some fantastic gags and a killer soundtrack. My favourite Marvel Studios movie.
—
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze (1991)

- I LOVE Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990), but the sequel has Vanilla Ice and the Ninja Rap, what else can I say?
—
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)

- Best Spidey movie ever? You bet ya! The music, the colours, the level of storytelling – Into the Spider-Verse is one damn cool movie and no mistake.
—
X-Men: Days of Future Past: The Rogue Cut (2014)

- Two X-Men movies make my Top Ten list and one of them has to be Days of Future Past. The Rogue Cut is my favourite version of Days of Future Past, simply because it offers more screen time.
—
Logan: Noir (2017)

- The second X-Men movie on my list is Logan – the final solo film for Wolverine. And if I’m watching Logan it has to be Logan: Noir – the black and white version of this movie.
—
Superman II (1980)

- Superman: The Movie might be my favourite Superman film, but I always have time for Superman II. It’s iconic.
—
Batman & Robin (1997)

- Probably not on many peoples’ list, but I love Batman & Robin. It took a long time, but I now appreciate it for the high camp fun that it is. I’m being serious.
—
Spider-Man 2 (2004)

- Another Spider-Man movie and in my opinion the best entry in director Sam Raimi’s trilogy.
____
Outside of the above ten, I always have plenty of time for Casper (1995), Josie and the Pussycats (2001), Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993), The Crow (1994), Avengers: Infinity War (2017), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Men in Black (1997) and Thor: Ragnarok (2017).
OK, so those are my favourite comic book movies, but what are yours? Fess up!
I want to know your Top Ten. No judgements here, even if some of your favourites are not considered to be high points of the genre.
Yes, you can admit to liking Judge Dredd (1995) or Catwoman (2004) if you wish. Just pop your favourite ten in the comments section.

Well, I’d same my favourite superhero to 10 would probably be… in no particular order as well. Batman (1989), Avengers Endgame (2019), Spider-Man 2 (2004), Superman 2 (1980), Logan (2017), Batman Returns (1982), Captain America Winter Soldier (2014), The Dark Knight (2008), Avengers Assemble (2013). 🙂

Thanks, I really like Batman Returns, always enjoy watching it. Especially at Christmas! Some awesome choices on your list as well. I’ve never got around to seeing Logan noir, must make a point of seeing it. Funny when you think about it really, making a list of just 10 superhero films was a lot tougher than I thought. There’s so many good one’s to choose from 🙂

Yep, there are now so many comic book movies that it’s no longer a case of having to compile a Top Ten from crap movies – there are so many good ones to choose from.

Yeah, as you say, can you remember when listing 10 favorite superhero films was sort of impossible, because there weren’t that many? And then it was easy for a while, because that was all we had? Now, it’s legitimately challenging. Fun times that we live in!
For the record, I guess I’d say Batman Begins, Dark Knight, Superman, Iron Man, Avengers, Winter Soldier, Spider-Man 2, XMen 2, Thor Ragnarok, and Guardians of the Galaxy…maybe. Oh wait, Wonder Woman. And I liked Shazam. And of course there’s Endgame, but I feel like I need to let a bit of time pass before I decide for sure.

Great list! Shazam is such a good movie!! I know what you mean about Endgame, it’s kind of too new to rank.
