You’ve possibly heard the news already, but for those who haven’t, long-running horror show, Supernatural is coming to an end. The series – which has been on the air since 2005 – will conclude after the forthcoming season – it’s fifteenth.
Taking to Instagram to make the announcement, Supernatural actors, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins appeared in a video to deliver the news of the show’s conclusion. In the video, Ackles said: “We just told the crew that though we’re very, very excited about moving into our 15th season, it will be our last.”
In a statement, via EW, Supernatural Executive Producers, Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb, said:
“Firstly, we would like to thank all the people who have been involved with the show both in front of and behind the camera. For us it has been an experience of a lifetime. The support we have had from both Warner Bros Television and The CW has been incredible. We’d like to give special thanks to Jensen, Jared and Misha for making this journey so special. It is now most important to us to give these characters that we love the send off they deserve.”
Personally, I don’t watch Supernatural – I haven’t watched the show since Season Four – but I admire it’s popularity. The show has been incredibly successful and by the end of its run it will have produced more than 320 episodes.
